Gunpowder tea comes from China, specifically from the Zhejiang province, and has been known and appreciated in those regions since the 7th century, i.e. from the reign of the Tang dynasty.
In the Chinese tea classification, it is classified as a pearl type, due to its unique shape - the leaves are rolled into small balls of an irregular shape. For this reason, the Europeans called it Gunpowder, which means gunpowder. Tea leaves are dark in colour with a silvery or grey tint.
Among the many types of green tea, Gunpowder is one of the stronger and more intense in taste. Its lovers are people who appreciate expressiveness and a tart, slightly bitter aftertaste.
A method of preparing:
Because Chinese green tea can be brewed at a slightly higher temperature than Japanese, water at 75-85*C is recommended. 1 teaspoon of Gunpowder Tea pour a cup of hot water, brew for 3 minutes. We will get a wonderful, aromatic brew with a characteristic dark green colour. Once brewed, Gunpowder is reusable.
